Tell me the size of the job, how many stories, and the year the home was built when you send the details. Homes built before 1978 can have lead-safety limits on painted surfaces.

Some projects need a specialist trade or a city permit. New wiring or circuits, new plumbing or gas lines, HVAC, roofing, structural work, and water or fire damage cleanup are outside my normal scope. I'll tell you up front if your project needs a different trade or additional review.

Got a list? Send the whole thing.

You don't need a renovation to call a handyman. One fix or ten, send the details and I'll review the scope.

  • Fix the sticking doors
  • Patch the drywall
  • Hang the mirror
  • Repair the gate
  • Install the shelves
  • Touch up the paint

How it works

  1. 1

    Tell me what you need.

Describe the job and add photos if you can.

  2. 2

    I review it.

I check that it fits what I take on and what I need to give you an estimate.

  3. 3

Get an estimate, then a fixed price.

I'll give you a free ballpark range by phone or text. Then I look at the job in person and write a fixed-price quote on site, materials included. That written quote is your price.

  4. 4

    Get it done.

If the scope changes, it's priced and approved in writing before extra work.

I'm Michael Rafoul. I run Coal Creek Handyman from Erie with hands-on experience across painting, carpentry, drywall and general home repair. The person who reviews your job is the person who does the work.

  • 1-year workmanship warranty
  • Erie-based
  • Owner-operated
  • Clear scope

I define what the job includes before the work starts.

  • One fixed price

Quoted work is one price, materials included.

  • Changes in writing

If the scope changes, the change is priced and approved before extra work.

  • The right job for the right trade

If something is outside my scope, I'll say so rather than pretend I can take it on.
